Putting others first is deeply rooted in Mikaela’s background. After graduating from Florida State University, she immersed herself in hospitality. While learning all aspects of the industry, she focused on Human Resources allowing her to lean into her passion for creating positive experiences, coaching, and developing others.

In developing and analyzing teams, she noticed a common theme – the highest-performing groups always had a strong bond and distinct culture. It became apparent to her that it wasn’t only about hiring the most qualified person for the position, but also the person who best fits the team.

This led her to focus on talent acquisition, diving deep into how to attract the best talent and onboard them into the company and the team for maximum results. She was responsible for recruiting and team performance for one of the largest hotel chains in the world and then university recruiting and relations for a Fortune 500 engineering company.

One evening over dinner between Trey and Mikaela, Trey was recapping a client call. He noticed a theme he’d seen across so many of his clients – private practices need help attracting and hiring the right talent. With Mikaela’s recruiting expertise, she started private practice consulting – all while working as the Global Human Resources Director for one of the world’s leading diversified manufacturers.

Once the concept of BJU became a reality, Mikaela took the plunge into full-time entrepreneurship. Her genuine love of helping others succeed makes her a natural fit for client success.

Mikaela loves dancing, whether that be on an official dance floor or around the kitchen and enjoying a great glass of wine with friends. She lives in Nashville with her husband, Trey, and can be seen at the park or taking long walks with their 4-legged baby, Merlin, every day.
